  Dr. Robert Van Jacobs, 71, of Somerset, died June 26, 2001 in Pittsburgh.
  Born May 18, 1930 in Jennerstown, son of Harry Casper and Ruth (Hoover)
  Jacobs.  Preceded in death by parents, and infant son Robert II.  Survived by
  children, Sheryl, Texas; Johathan, Somerset; Kimberly, New Jersey; Thomas,
  Pittsburgh; Jeffrey, Atlanta Georgia; Jennifer, Washington, D.C.; Joanna,
  New York City; Robert III, Johnstown, and one grandchild, Jessica; brother
  of Mary Ream and Lois Custer; both of Somerset.  He was a member of Trinity
  Lutheran Church, Somerset, an Air Force veteran, an Eagle Scout, a graduate
  of the University of Pittsburgh and Temple University Medical School, and
  fellow American College of Surgeons.  No viewing or receiving of friends.
  Public is invited to attend the memorial service at 5 p.m. Saturday at
  Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be
  made to the American Diabetes Association, 1-800-232-3472, the Children's
  Aid Home, Somerset, or the Boy Scouts of America Penns Wood Council.
