James, a son of the late Samuel and Mary Elizabeth James, died at his home at Cleveland, Ohio, suddenly at 5 p.m., Friday, December 4th. Mr. James had been to his office for the day, and had just entered his home and was hanging up his overcoat when he dropped dead from a bad heart condition. Richard R. James was born in Pittsburgh about 52 years ago. He lived in Pittsburgh and Connellsville for about 20 years, going from the latter place to New York City, where he was employed for 29 years, moving to Cleveland, Ohio, last year. He was engaged in mechanical research both in New York and in Cleveland. Richard R. James was a member of the Connellsville Baptist Church practically all of his life. He was also for many years a member of the Masonic fraternity. He was married about 30 years ago to Miss Lillian Powell, who survives. Surviving, also, are one daughter, Miss Ruth James, at home, and the following brothers and sisters: Preston D. James, Greensburg; Herbert James, Santa Rosa, Cal.; Mrs. William Peterman, Mrs. John Blair and Miss Iva James, Akron, O., and Mrs. C. E. Black, Confluence. One son preceded him to the grave about a year ago. Funeral services were held at his home in Cleveland on Sunday, December 6th, Rev. Thomas Edwards of the Cleveland Baptist Church officiating. The body was brought to the home of his sister, Mrs. C. E. Black, at Confluence, where services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 8th, Rev. Edwards of Cleveland officiating, assisted by Rev. W. L. Morgan of the Confluence Methodist Episcopal Church. Interment in Addison Cemetery, with services by the Masonic order. Among those from a distance who attended the funeral were Miss Bertha Hazelwood and Edward Hazelwood, Pittsburgh; Ira Powell and son George and Miss Minnie Powell of Bedford; Charles Davidson, Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Dunn, Lee Smith and Miss Clara Smith, Uniontown; Mrs. Wm. Peterson, Mrs. John Blair and Miss Iva James, Akron, O.; Preston James, Greensburg, and Herbert James, Santa Rosa, Cal.
