Jenkins, 71, of Star Route, Frostburg, Md., died Jan. 23, 1988, in Frostburg Community Hospital, Md. He was born in New Germany Feb. 17, 1916, son of the late Ralph K. and Anna V. (Stephens) Jenkins. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a retired maintenance employee at Frostburg State University. He was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church and woodmen of the World Alcamp 41, Grantsville, Md. Survivors include his widow, Hazel I. (Tichnell) Jenkins; three sons, Donald Jenkins, Richard Jenkins and Kenneth Jenkins, all of Frostburg, Md.; one daughter, Joyce Hawks, Elkton; two brothers, Ray Jenkins and Robert Jenkins, both of Grantsville, Md.; two sisters, Aley Housel, Cumberland, Md.; and Lula Smith, Winchester, Va.; and 10 granchildren. Friends were received in the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, Md. where services were conducted Tuesday at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Joseph Upole. Interment, Mount Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers were Richard Jenkins, Roy Jenkins, Donald Jenkins, Chris Jenkins, Thomas Jenkins, and John Livengood. The Republic, January 28, 1988 [J0100]
