   Gerald P. Jerome Sr., 63, Somerset, died Jan. 16, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center,
  Johnstown. Born March 29, 1942, in New York City, son of Gerald A. and Edith (Sonsky)
  Jerome. Preceded in death by parents and son, Joseph. Survived by wife of 25 years, the
  former Diana Butcher; and children, Gerald Jerome Jr., Shanksville; James Jerome, Howell,
  N.J.; Jonathan and Tammy Jerome, Jennerstown; Richard Hiles, Laurel Lake, N.J.; and Ryan
  Hiles, Millville, N.J. Also survived by grandchildren, Jennifer and Rich Appel, Somerset,
  and Gerald P. III, Bakersville; and great-grand- son, Ryan Appel, Somerset. Brother of
  Valerie Jerome, Los Angeles. Also survived by other loving family mem- bers, Reba and
  Denielle Jerome; Debbie Lockard; Bobbi Phillips; and beloved dog, Auggie. Member of Mount
  Zion Lutheran Church. He was a caretaker for the Bakersville Community Grove. President of
  Somerset Area Ambulance Association and a lifetime member of Bakersville Volunteer Fire
  Department. He was also a member of FOE 1801. No viewing or receiving of friends. Family
  and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Zion
  Lutheran Church. The Rev. Elisa Osman officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make
  donations to Somerset Area Ambulance Association or Bakersville Volunteer Fire
