Jeter, 70, of Stoystown RD 2 (Buckstown), died Nov. 17, 1988, in Somerset Community Hospital. He was born Sept. 17, 1918, in Union, W.Va., son of Leonard and Mary Alice (Steele) Jeter. Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Lisa Jane; four brothers and three sisters. Survived by his wife of 42 years, the former Janet M. Wagner; a nephew, whom he raised, Jack Lee Wagner, married to the former Christine Rothacher, and their son, Daniel Edward, all of Kingman, Ariz.; also numberous other nieces and nephews. Former Assistant Superintendent of Road for PennDot, Army veteran of WWII. Member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Buckstown, where he had served on the church council, and Central City American Legion. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, STOYSTOWN. Viewing from 1 p.m. until service at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Rev. Merlin O. Sjoberg.
