Jewell, 91, of Winchester Road, Cumberland, Md. formerly of Ridgeley, W. Va., died May 15, 1979 in Frostburg Village of Allegany County. She was born in Meyersdale, the daughter of the late J. Albert and Mary Elizabeth (Sheetz) Graves. Her husband was the late Charles A. Jewell, former justice of the peace in Ridgeley, who died in 1953. She was the oldest member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Ridgeley, and WSCS, Swarner Circle, and was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of Gold Star Post 6453, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Ridgeley. Mrs. Jewell is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Marie O. Pollack, Winchester Road; Mrs. Louise S. McBride, Romney, W. Va.; and Mrs. Evelyn M. Lowe, Lakehurst, N. J.; five sons, C. Harold Jewell, Cresaptown, Md.; Carl R. Jewll, Fort Ashby; Clarence A. Jewell, Cumberland; William A. Jewell, Ridgeley, And Donald E. Jewell, Winchester Road; 37 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and nine great great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Friends were received at the George Funeral Home. A service was conducted at Calvary United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Elmer T. Sprinkle and Rev. F. Blaine Rinker officiating. Interment, Hillcrest Burial Park. Republic, May 24, 1979 [J0112]
