Born Nov. 29, 1913, in Boynton, son of John and Alice (Zubal) Jock. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Emma Nagy; brothers, Charles, John and Peter; and sisters, Mary Chapinka, and Fannie Bidner. Survived by children, Gary, married to the former Bernice Sadosky, Stoystown; and Linda, married to John Baker, Herndon, Va.; grandchildren, Dianna Steck, Max and John Baker; and great-grandchildren, Hailey, Luke, and Max Baker. Brother of James, Stoystown; George, Somerset; Harry, Levittown; Nancy Swedler, Johnstown; and Evelyn Bosynak, Cleveland. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was a World War II Navy veteran having served in the Pacific Theatre aboard the USS Farragut. Member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Wilbur; Hooversville VFW Post 7565; and Stoystown American Legion Post 257. He became a coal miner at age 15, and worked for Calvert Supply, Hooversville; Vickers Corp., Detroit; and Kolesko Motors, Hooversville. Longtime employee of Daniel Shaffer's Inc., Hooversville, where he retired in 1995 at the age of 82. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville. Viewing from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Otterbein United Methodist Church. The Rev. James M. Hamilton officiating. Interment Otterbein Cemetery. Graveside military rites by Somerset County Honor Guard.
