Johnson, 86, of Mill Run RD 1 died Feb. 1, 1975 in Connellsville General Hospital. Born May 23, 1898 in Springfield Township, a son of the late John W. and Emma Geary Johnson. Was a retired coal miner of the Republic Steel Corp. and was a township supervisor in the Springfield Township, Fayette County for 12 years. He was a member of the Mill Run Grange and the Critchfield C. M. and A. Church. He is survived by five sons: Roy, Dale, William and Carol, all of Mill Run RD 1, and Lorenzo of Connellsville RD 2; two daughters Mrs. Clyde (Betty) Porterfield of Mill Run RD 1 and Mrs. Robert (Hattie Mae) Joll of Mill Run; 24 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; two brothers, Leslie of Somerset and Russell of Siginaw, Mich.; and three sisters, Mrs. Hattie Ankney of Rockwood, Mrs. Kathleen Lawson of Yucca Valley, Cal. and Mrs. Laverne Younkin of Boswell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Effie Jane Schmuck Johnson in (?) two sons and two daughters. Friends are being received at the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home, Inc.
