He was born Aug. 25, 1906, in Garrett, a son of Ira Delano and Susan (Frickey) Johnson. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Edith Marie Hemminger, who died Dec. 16, 1998; two sons, Daniel D and Fred A. Johnson; grandson, Terry Tipton; five sisters, Martha Bockes, Mary Brant, Olive Burkholder, Leora Crowe and Velma Horchner; and one brother, Milton Johnson. Survived by these children, Mrs. Charles (Jean) Swindell of North Oldmsted, Ohio; Clarence I. Johnson Jr., married to the former Lois Headlee of Waynesburg; Mrs. Eugene (Dorothy) Barlow of Oberlin, Ohio; Mrs. James (Carley) Suter of Somerset; Mrs. Rena Tipton of Mantua, Ohio; Thomas C. Johnson, married to the former Shirley Goller of Kirkland, Ohio; Mrs. Thomas D. (Ruth) Barron of Somerset; Glenn E. Johnson, married to the former Jayne Calender of Bellvue, Col.; Mrs. Richard (Kay) Neri of Boswell and Mrs. Dale (Linda) Griffith of Pittsburgh; 35 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren. Half brother of John J. Schrock of Summit Mills. Member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. Retired Somerset Township dairy farmer. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Monday, at Hauger-Zigler Funeral Home. Viewing from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Edward W. Ebersole officiating. Interment in Lavansville Lutheran Cemetery.
