Born May 9, 1905, in Jenner Township, Somerset County, son of Noah and Eliza Ann (Synder) Johnson Sr. Preceded in death by parents; wife the former Jennie Pauline Hate, who died Sept. 7, 1977; two sisters Margaret Smith and Vera Horner. Survived by two children, Clara A. Reese, New Oxford RD 2, Pa., and George A. Jr., Gettysburg; one step-son, Jack M. Hartfield, Hollsopple RD 2; four grandchildren; four step grandchildren. Brother of: James, Stoystown RD 1; Eugene, Latrobe; Noah Jr., Leonard, Ellis and Mrs. Gladys Reed, all of Boswell RD 1; Mrs. Mary Gilbert and Mrs. Betty Jane Horner, both of Hollsoplle RD 2. Employed by PennDOT for many years, and retired in 1976 from Annie M. Warner Hospital, Gettysburg. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, the Rev. Jesse E. Wolf. Interment, Mt. Zion Cemetery.
