"Howdy" Johnson, 93, of Meyersdale died Aug. 6, 2001 at Somerset Hospital. Born Sept. 13, 1907 in Meyersdale. A son of the late Alex H. and Eva (Tremel) Johnson. Also preceded in death by his wife, the former G. Elizabeth "Lib" Keim; a brother, Carl A. Johnson, and a sister Evelyn Murphy. Survived by two children: Gerald B. Johnson, Meyersdale, and Shirley A. Force, Silver Spring, Md. Seven grandchildren: Greg and Mauri Johnson, Denise and Wayne Sherlock, Joanie Johnson, Jennifer Johnson, David and Laura Spataro, Bryan and Tracey Spataro, and Natalie Spataro. Also nine great-grandchildren. A lifelong businessman, Howdy was the former owner of the Johnson Memorial Co. in Meyersdale. A member of the Amity United Church of Christ in Meyersdale, Johnstown Rock and Gem Club, Laurel Arts, and Tub Mill Run Artists. Life member of the Meyersdale Volunteer Fire Department and member of the Board of Directors of the Union Cemetery Association. Former member of the Meyersdale Rotary Club, Monument Builders of Pennsylvania and Monument Builders of North America. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, with the Rev.
