"Joe" Johnson, 81, of Roaring Run Road, Boswell RD, died Jan. 16, 2002 at Memorial Medical Center Johnstown. Born July 4, 1920 in Jenner Township. Son of Noah and Eliza (Snyder) Johnson. Preceded in death by parents, wife of 39 years, the former Evalyn Ream June 25, 1990, infant daughter Cynthia, three sisters, Elizabeth "Magie" Smith, Vera "Beck" Horner and Gladys "Toots" Reed, and three brothers George "Bailey", James "Possum", and Eugene "Bud". Survived by son David R. married to Karen Marie Saylor of Boswell RD, daughter Linda J. of Jenners, and grandson Joseph D. Johnson. Brother of Leonard "Bill" of Boswell RD, Mary wife of Charles Gilbert and Betty Jane wife of Elmer Horner both of Hollsopple RD, and Ellis "Mooney", Boswell RD. Member of Laurel Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jennerstown, and Latrobe Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 354. Retired pipefitter with approximately 50 years of service. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell. Viewing also from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Laurel Trinity Church. Interment, Mt. Zoin Cemetery, Jenner Township, with graveside Military Rite.
