Born April 21, 1882, in Jenner Township, a son of Andrew and Lizzie (Liberty) Johnson. Preceded in death by parents; his wife, the former Eliza Anna Snyder, who died Nov. 23, 1968; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Smith and Mrs. Vera Horner; also two grandchildren, two sisters and a brother. Survived by these children: George, married to the former Pauline Hartfield, Gettysburg; James, married to the former Jennie Robson, Stoystown RD 1; Gladys, widow of David Reed; Noah F., married to the former Evelyn Ream; Leonard, married to the former Mary Hornick; and Ellis, married to the former Irene Berkheimer, all of Boswell RD 1; Eugene married to the former Dorothy Dixon, Latrobe RD 5; Mary, wife of Charles Gilbert, and Betty Jane, wife of Elmer Horner, both of Hollsopple RD 2; 30 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Was a retired Jenner Township farmer and member of Laurel Trinity Lutheran Church, Jennerstown. Friends received after 7 p.m. Tuesday at Joseph H. Hoffman Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, the Rev. Jesse E. Wolf and the Rev. Harry C. Blough. Interment, Mt. Zion Cemetery.
