   Daniel C. Johnston, 68, Falls Church, Va., formerly of Fairhope, died June 26, 2006, at
  Fairfax Hospital, Fairfax, Va. Mr. Johnston was born in Pittsburgh on April 10, 1938, the
  son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Deely) Johnston. He was married to Susan (Smith)
  Johnston, whom he married in 1971. In addition to his wife, he is survived by son,
  Matthew J. Johnston, fiancˇe Connie Fisher, and her son Colin, New Baltimore; daughter,
  Cara Johnston, Somerset; brothers, Joseph, husband of Jean, Rochester, N.Y., Paul,
  husband of Roseann, Raleigh, N.C., John, husband of Kay, Fairport, N.Y.; sister, Mary
  Jane, wife of John O'Donnell, Pittsburgh. Dan is also survived by a grandson, Logan
  (Spud), and a number of nieces and nephews. He worked as a heavy equipment operator, and
  also a farmer and plumber. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, New Baltimore.
  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home,
  Schellsburg, where a vigil for the deceased will be held at 8:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will
  be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Church, New Baltimore, with the Rev.
  Allen Zeth officiating. Committal will be at St. John's Cemetery, New Baltimore. Memorial
  contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 3704 Memphis,
  TN 38173.
