NANCY GROVE JOHNSTON

  Mrs. Nancy Grove Johnston, wife of Edwin S. Johnston of 1511 Ninth Street, 
Altoona, Pa., died at her home at 4 a.m. on Thursday, September 4.  She was born 
in Spruce Creek, Pa., on September 16, 1862, a daughter of William and Catherine 
(Isenberg) Johnston, and married Mr. Johnston in Baltimore, Md., on August 30, 
1922.  Surviving are her husband, three sisters, Mrs. Ada Johnson and Misses 
Margaret and Dorothy Johnston, and a number of nieces and nephews.  She was a 
sister-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Johnston of Salisbury.
  She was a long-time member of the First Lutheran Church of Altoona.  Funeral 
services were conducted at the Hickey Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Saturday, 
September 6, by her pastor, Rev. Luke H. Rhoads.  Interment in the Fairview 
cemetery in Altoona.
