All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ _______________________________________________ DOROTHY ANN (DOTTIE) JONES October 7, 1952 March 11, 2004 Dorothy Ann (Dottie) Jones, age 51 years, a resident of the Blackman Heights Community, Parsons, W.Va., departed this life Thursday evening, March 11, 2004 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Tuesday, October 7, 1952 at Meyersdale, a daughter of the late Leroy Deal and Betty Beachy. On January 8, 1977 at Salisbury, she was married to Clifford Wayne Jones, who survives. Also surviving are one son: Jeffrey Wayne Jones and wife Jennifer of Burlington, W.Va.; one daughter, Eva Leann George and husband Jason of Elkins, W.Va., four brothers: Jerry Deal and wife Jayne of Salisbury; Bernerd Deal and wife Brenda of Cumberland, Md., Paul Deal of Meyersdale, and George Deal and wife Janet, all of Salisbury, one sister: Ellen Opel and husband Lee of Salisbury. She was a graduate of the Salisbury-Elk Lick High School in Pennsylvania. She was a graduate of Shepherd College with a degree in home economics and earned her masters degree from West Virginia University. She was a 4-H home economics agent for Pendleton County and Tucker County. She was a 4-H volunteer for Tucker County. At the time of her death, she worked for the Randolph County W.I.C. Program. She was a member of the Parsons Presbyterian Church of which she was clerk of session and an elder of the church. She was a former member of the Hendricks Ruritan Club. She loved to sew and was an avid reader. The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Sunday. Final rites were conducted at the funeral home parlor on Monday, March 15, with the Reverend Charles Vorderberg officiating. Interment followed at the Bethel Cemetery in Holly Meadows.
