" Ed" 08/03/08 Daily American John E. "Ed" Jones Jr., 66, Greensburg, died July 29, 2008, at Indian Lake, Somerset County. He was born March 3, 1942, in Greensburg, a son of John E. Jones Sr., Greensburg and the late Leora (Morris) Jones. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa A. Jones. He was a wonderful and devoted husband, father and grandfather, and will be sadly missed by the following survivors, his wife of 46 years, Beverly (Knouse) Jones; six children, Kimberly J. Bleyer (Dr. Anthony), Winston-Salem, N.C.; Stacey J. Bowman (Charles), Ruffsdale; Jacqueline S. Sidor (Rick), Waynesboro, Va.; Lt. John L. Jones, Queens, N.Y.; Vanessa L. Jones, Greensburg; and Lindsay D. McConnell (John), Greensburg; 13 grandchildren, Anthony J. Bleyer Jr., Michael E. Bleyer, Heidi A. Bleyer, Charles A. Bowman Jr., Alexander J. Bowman, Elizabeth A. Bowman, Sarah R. Sidor, Julia N. Sidor, Andrew M. Sidor, Joseph E. Sidor, Matthew J. Sidor, Riley P. Jones and Madelynn R. Mc- Connell; two brothers, Thomas L. Jones, Greensburg; and Richard A. Jones, California. He was a member of the North Ridge Baptist Church, Friedens. Ed was a master builder for 45 years, building many custom homes in the area. He owned and operated John E. Jones & Sons Construction, Greensburg. Ed loved Boating and fishing and was an avid reader. He shared these loves with his children and grandchildren. Family and friends will be received from 12 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Barnhart Funeral Home, 505 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg. Additional visitation will be held at the New Stanton Alliance Church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, the time of service. The Rev. James Haddon officiating.
