A wave of universal regret goes out over the town that one whose life was so useful and whose character so beautiful should thus untimely be called hence. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon, meeting at the house at 1:30 o'clock. Interment will be made in the Union Cemetery, following which the funeral services will be held in the Brethren Church, Rev. H. L. Coughenour, the pastor of the deceased to officiate. (Obituary in next issue) Meyersdale Commercial, Mar. 16, 1916 --- In last week's issue of the Commercial a brief announcement of the death of Miss Edith Just was made. She passed away on the afternoon of Thursday, March 16 at 4:45 o'clock following an illness of a few months. Miss Just was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus A. Just and she was born in the house adjoining the one in which she died. She attended the public schools of Meyersdale and graduated in the Academy course with the class of 1904 and following which she took up a business course in a commercial school at this place. Then she accepted a position with the Second National Bank of Meyersdale as bookkeeper and stenographer which place she filled with remarkable success and fidelity up to the time of her serious illness, she became conversant with all phases of the work. In church activities her energy knew no abatement; she was a member of the Brethren Church and in Sunday School she handled the finances in a very creditable and systematic manner. She was president of the Woman's league consisting of seventy members of which she was the youngest. When hardly able to attend church and Sunday School, she kept on going, Sunday after Sunday, trusting in her Lord for strength, always trying to be useful and aiming to make others happy. Her death has certainly left a void in the church and in the community. Her good works will continue as a blessing to others. Besides her parents, two sisters survive: Miss Sadie and Miss Florence. The funeral was held on Saturday afternoon at her late home, corner of Broadway and Center Street, at 1:30 o'clock, and following the conveying of the loved form to its final resting place in Union Cemetery, funeral services were held in the Brethren Church, her pastor, Rev. H. L. Coughenour, officiating assisted by Rev. W. M. Howe. The pall bearers were members of the bank with whom she was associated in her daily activities and members of the choir, of which she was an important factor: J. H. Bowman, C. Q. Griffith, Park Weimer, H. M. Cook, John Swearman and Maurice Clark. Meyersdale Commercial, Mar. 23, 1916
