On Saturday, November 27, 1875, at her residence in Somerset, Pa., Mrs.
Elizabeth Kiernan, aged 84 years and 9 months. Mrs. Kiernan was the mother of
our fellow townsman, Mr. Frank Kiernan. She was born near Gettysburg, Adams
county, Pa., on the 27th of February, 1791, and removed to Somerset in 1820
where she has resided ever since. For a considerable time past she had been
confined to her bed and her death, therefore, was not unexpected. She leaves a
large family and extensive circle of friends to mourn her death.
