Kaebnick, 89, 65 Woodbine Drive, Hershey, Pa., died May 25, 1987, in Hershey. He was a retired bishop of the Northeastern Jurisdictional Conference of the United Methodist Church, serving the Harrisburg area. Previous to July of 1972, he served 47 years as a pastor, a district superintendent, executive secretary and bishop of the former Evangelical United Brethren Church, later the United Methodist Church. He was the widower of Gertrude Strehler Kaebnick and a Navy veteran of World War I. He attended the First United Methodist Church, Hershey, and was a member of the United Methodist Men, a 33rd Degree Mason, was a member of the Miami Lodge No. 660 F&AM, Dayton, Ohio, and the Harrisburg Consistory. Surviving by: son Dr. Warren W. Kaebnick of Troy, Ohio; daughter Winifred L. Kaebnick of Hershey; three grandsons and two great-grandsons. A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 7 at 2 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church, Hershey. Interment, Dayton Memorial Park and Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio. There will be no viewing. Memorial contributions may be made to the Preacher's Aid Society, the Board of Mission, or the Lewisburg United Methodist Homes, in care of Central Pa.
