Howard Kahl, 66, of Onekama, Mich., formerly of Accident, died Thursday evening, September 6, at Onekama Memorial Hospital. He was born March 22, 1913, a son of the late John and Laura (Fresh) Kahl. He is survived by his widow, Beulah (Patton) Kahl; one son, George P. Kahl, Onekama, and one step-son, Richard Patton, Raub, Ind. Other survivors are four brothers; Fred Kahl, Confluence, Pa.; Paul Kahl, Randallstown, and Harold Kahl and Roy Kahl, both of Accident; five sisters, Mrs. Dora Edgar, Grantsville; Mrs. Grace George, Hartville, Ohio; Mrs. Lola Athea, Cumberland; and Mrs. Amelia Bowman and Mrs. Alberta Mosser, both of Accident; a stepmother, Mrs. Lillie Kahl, Accident; one granddaughter and two step grandchildren. Mr. Kahl was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Onekama and a veteran of World War II. After retiring from a heating and plumbing business in Dover, Del. in 1976, he and Mrs. Kahl moved to Onekama. The body was taken to the Newman Funeral Home in Grantsville, where service was held. The Rev. Fred Illick officiated and interment was at the Grantsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the Trinity Lutheran Church in Onekama.
