Kalaha, 79, Stoystown, died Dec. 4, 2007, at her residence. Born Feb. 6, 1928, in Jenner Township, a daughter of Robert and Annie (Hemminger) Trexel. Preceded in death by parents; husband, John in 2004; daughter-in- law, Jackie Ann (Smith) Kalaha; and brother, Howard Trexel. Survived by children, Mary Ann, married to David Marker, Garrett; Roger, married to the former Sharon Heist, LaPlata, Md.; John, married to the former Carol Smith, Fairhope; and Susan, married to Edward Stoeker, Rector; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Brian, and Scott Marker, Christopher Kalaha, Travis and Chad Barron, and Chad, Matthew and Kimberly Kalaha; great-grand- children, Matthew, Anne Marie, Madeline, Samuel and Eric Marker, Michael and Stephanie Barron, Kinter and Kylan Kalaha. She was a special ÒMaÓ to Becky and Emily Armstrong. Sister of Dorothy Stern, Baltimore; John Trexel, Johnstown; Lois Riley, Hyde Park; and Carol Wright, Baltimore. She attended Shanksville-Stonycreek High School. Member of Grace Lutheran Church, Stoystown, Stoystown Historical Society, and a charter member of the Stoystown Lioness Club. She baby-sat for many area children. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. A Lioness service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday. Viewing from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church, Stoystown. The Rev. Walter L. Startzel officiating.
