She was born Feb. 11, 1950, in Lincoln, Ill., a daughter of Jack R. and Betty (Varnell) Smith. She is survived by her husband, Roger L.; parents, Berlin RD 4; a son, Christopher, at home; these brothers and sisters: Mrs. Karen Hoffman, Philip Smith, Wendy Keyser, all of Somerset RD 7; and Carol Kalaha, Fairhope RD 1; Peggy Meyers, Somerset; and Paul Smith, Berlin RD 4. She was a member of Listie Church of the Brethren and Somerset Music Club. Friends were received in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where services were conducted with the Rev. William Cochran and the Rev. Larry Weigle. Interment, Listie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Kidney Transplant Foundation, University of Pittsburgh, 954 Scaife Hall, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15261, or the American Diabetes Association, Johnstown Area Chapter, Lee Hospital, 320 Main St., Johnstown, Pa. 15901.
