Kalmanir, 59, of 10010 Kingshyre Way, Tampa, Fla., formerly of Boswell, died Feb. 1, 2002, at home. Born Sept. 27, 1942, in Boswell, son of John J. and Lucille (Thomas) Kalmanir. Preceded in death by father and maternal grandparents, Zach and Ada (Ringler) Thomas. Survived by mother, Boswell; wife, Donna Lindsey; and children Tom O'Neal, Malvern, Chris Kalmanir, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Doug Pernell and wife Marissa, St. Paul, Minn., and Rebecca Pernell, Brooklyn, N.Y. Also survived by two grandchildren. A 1960 graduate of the former JBJ Joint High School where he lettered in football and basketball and was co-captain of the basketball team. Former air traffic controller with the U.S. Navy and the FAA. Employed for the last 15 years by Verizon Data Services, Tampa. Friends received from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell, where service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Peter R. Grosso officiating.
