"Red" Kalp, 62, of Champion RD 1, was called home by his Lord, Oct. 27, 1989, at his residence. Born Feb. 7, 1927, Saltlick Township, son of the late Gay and Olive (Brown) Kalp. Survived by his wife of 39 years, the former Rebecca Mink; also survived by two daughters: Barbara, wife of James K. Yost of Champion RD 1; and Dr. Kathy Kalp, wife of James T. Laxton of Jones Mills; uncle to Frankie Little, a very special nephew; also survived by 25 other nieces and nephews; three grandsons: Jimmy and Jason Yost, and Jimmy Laxton; and granddaughter, Laura Yost; two sisters: Blanche Little of Acme, Pa; and Beatty Glowacki of Mt. Pleasant. A construction carpenter foreman, member of Carpenter's Union Local 2274 of Pittsburgh, Trent Rod and Gun Club, an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, his mountain friends and making maple syrup. Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. today, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at the Middlecreek Church of the Brethren, Monday at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Kenneth Davis, and the Rev. Greg Gohn officiating. Interment, Tinkey Cemetery.
