Preceded in death by parents; first wife, the former Violet Covitch, who died Aug. 22, 1972; infant son, Clark Raymond; sister, Verna Benshoff. Survived by widow, former Doloris Angelo; these children: Mary Frances, wife of Andrew Hollan, Tire Hill; Patricia, wife of Richard Hanes, JoAnn, wife of Michael Blucas; Carol, wife of Joseph D. Caola, all of Boswell RD 1; William, married to former Ruth Barron, Stoystown RD 3; Betsy, wife of Ronald Druist, Sipesville; Daniel, married to former Marsha Petrilla, Hooversville; step-children: Teresa Kelly, Hooversville; Thomas Brewer, at home; 12 grandchildren. Brother of: Dorothy Lanier of Dunedin, Fla.; William, Ohio; James, Ligonier; Leora Young, Schellsburg; Hazel Ewing, Baltimore, Md. Member of St. David's Lutheran Church, Davidsville; Boswell Post 461, America Legion; Hollsopple Post 8861 VFW F.O.E. Aerie No. 2391, Kingwood W.Va.; Jerome Nest 556, Polish Falcons of America. Life member of L.O.O.M. Lodge 598, Buckhannon, W.Va. Disabled Marine Corps veteran of World War II, having distinguished self for bravery with First Marines, Fifth Division during various battles in South Pacific. Second most decorated enlisted man of World War II. Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and until 9 p.m. Thursday at Hoffman Funeral Home, 409 Main St., Boswell, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, the Rev. Harry W. Bassett.
