Kaltenbaugh Sr., 77, Soap Hollow Road, Hollsopple, went home to be with his Lord, April 21, 2004, at UPMC Lee Regional, Johnstown. Born Dec. 8, 1926, in Johnstown, son of Albert F. Sr. and Grace Ann (McKeown) Kaltenbaugh. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Albert Jr. and Daniel and sister, Emma Kimmel. Survived by loving wife of 56 years, the former Grace Jacobs; sons, Peter Jr. married to former Janice Brougher, Stonycreek Lake and Mark, Ocean Springs, Miss.; daughters, Coleen married to Steve Martin, Collierville, Tenn.; Iris, married to Bob Bruce, Salem, Va.; Lisa, married to Mike Rafferty, Phoenix, Ariz.; and Anita Kaltenbaugh, Phoenix, Ariz.; grandchildren: Apryle, Lance, Shonna, Matthew, Beth, Ashley, Stephanie, Luke, Jacob, and McKenna; great-grandchildren: Adian, Elijah, Alliyah and Avalon; sisters, Grace Mary Thomas, St. Petersburg, Fla., Pearl Haines, Tire Hill, and Isabella, married to Emmert Keim, Thomas Mills; brother, Gary and wife, Patricia, Tucson, Ariz. Also survived by numerous aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. A 1944 graduate of Conemaugh Township Area High School. A Marine Corps veteran of World War II. Past employee of former Bird Coal Co., Tire Hill. Retired employee of former Gautier Division Bethlehem Steel Corp. A devoted family man who loved to have his children, family and friends around him. As a lifetime member of Tire Hill Church of the Brethren, Pete loved the Pennsylvania hills that God created. He had a passion for the outdoors where he could hunt, fish, and enjoy the company of friends and family. His love for hunting was contagious and sparked his interest in his memberships at New Baltimore and Ferndale sportsmen's clubs. In addition, he was one of the founders of the Jerome Sportsmen's Club. He was also a life member of the Jerome Post 802, American Legion. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Route 403 and Church Road, Davidsville, where service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Jack Rupert and Peter's son, Pastor Peter Kaltenbaugh Jr. officiating. Interment Stahl Mennonite Cemetery. Graveside military rite by Menoher Post 155 VFW.
