Kaminsky Sr., 85, Stoystown (Wilbur), died Feb. 26, 2008, at Meadow View Nursing Center, Berlin. Born Sept. 6, 1922, in Acosta, the son of Thomas and Agnes (Zolla) Kaminsky. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Fred, John and Tony; sisters, Sophie Fleegle and Helen Leone. Survived by his wife of 60 years, the former Mary Ann McGowan; children, Frank Jr., married to the Former Mary K. Barron and Thomas, all of Stoystown; Eileen, married to Joseph Zankey, Windber; James, married to the former Deanne Fleegle, Central City; grandchildren, Jason, Mark, Joel and Shannan Kaminsky, Leeann Cerimele, Andree Yock, Maria, Angela and Regina Zankey; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Sadie, Ethan and Olivia Kaminsky, Noah Cerimele and Cody Yock; and sister, Kathryn Fleagle, Somerset. He was a World War II Army veteran, where he served as an interpreter and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. A retired coal miner and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Hooversville, UMWA and Stoystown American Legion Post 257, life member of Hooversville Thirteen Star VFW Post 7565. Frank was an avid Pirates, Steelers and NASCAR fan. Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Hooversville. The Rev. Karl Kolodziejski, OFM, Conv. officiating. Interment, church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Meadow View Nursing Center, 1404 Hay St., Berlin, PA 15530. Military honors provided by Somerset County Honor Guard.
