  KAPITAN
  
  Emery Carl Kapitan, 72, 6337 Findley Road, Mercersburg, died unexpectedly
  March 21, 1989, at his home.  Born March 7, 1917, in Johnstown, son of the
  late Joseph and Helen (Polk) Kapitan.  Survived by wife, Helen L. (Brant)
  Kapitan; three sons: Ronald G., North Huntington; E. Paul, Littlestown; and
  Larry A., Mercersburg; a daughter, Linda JoAnn Mowen, Waynesboro; three
  sisters: Josephine Johnson and Helen Freiwald, both of Johnstown; and
  Jeanette Redman, Wickcliffe, Ohio; three brothers: Benjamin, Johnstown;
  Calvin, Jerome; and Daniel, Clearwater, Fla.; 7 grandchildren; 3
  great-granddaughters.  Retired from DeRose Industries Inc., Chambersburg,
  and the Chambersburg Hospital.  Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Thursday in
  Lininger Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg, where Rosary will be
  recited at 8:30 p.m.  Service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Monsignor Thomas
  J. Kujovsky officiating.  Burial in Fairview Cemetery.
