Born May 8, 1917, in Scranton, son of Ignatz and Marianne (Buzins) Karashowsky. Preceded in death by parents and sister, Mary Carson. Survived by wife, former Ruth Fyoek. Death ends marriage union of 41 years. Also survived by sons, Kenneth Earl, married to former Brenda Maust, and James Allen, married to former Elaine Trevarrow, both of Hooversville; and grandson, Christopher Allen. Brother of William Karson and Mrs. S.J. (Helen) Thomas, both of Johnstown. Stepbrother of Joseph Morsenko, Ebensburg. Retired from Conemaugh and Blacklick Railroad, Johnstown, with over 30 years' service. Army veteran of World War II, where he was a sergeant. Received American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart and Victory Medal. Member of Lake Glendale Pontoon Association; Hooversville Volunteer Fire Department; and served as quartermaster of Hooversville VFW Post 7565 for 30 years. Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, the Rev. Harry W. Bassett officiating. Interment, P.O.S. of A. Cemetery, Hooversville. If friends desire, instead of flowers, contributions may be made to American Heart Association Heart Research Fund.
