  KATES
  
  Elizabeth Marie Kates, 52, Hidden Valley, died Dec. 11, 2001, at her
  home.  Born June 16, 1949, in West Collingswood, N.J., daughter of the late
  Woodrow Charles and Emmanuella Marie (Hollinger) Nicholson.  Survived by her
  husband, Dr. Jonathan L. Kates, son, Samuel Kates, at home; two step-sons:
  Benjamin and Simon Kates, both of Miami, Fla.; brother, Paul Charles
  Nicholson, Mahaffey, Pa.; sisters: Mary Jane Nicholson, Atlanta, Ga.;
  Barbara (Nicholson) Kelly, Jupiter, Fla.; and stepmother, Elizabeth
  Nicholson, Lambertville, N.J.; several nieces and nephews.  Prior to her
  retirement, she was a registered nurse.  Member of Temple David,
  Monroeville.  Participant in the Race for the Cure, involved in activities
  at the Valley School in Ligonier.  Funeral service will be held at 11:30
  a.m. Friday at the Coshey-Nicholson Funeral Home, 319 West Pittsburgh St.,
  Greensburg, with Rabbi Richard S. Rheins officiating.  Graveside service at
  1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Roosevelt Memorial Park, Trevose, Pa.  Memorial
  donations may be made to In Touch Hospice, 1590 North Center Ave., Suite
  111, Somerset, Pa. 15501 or to the Susan B. Komen Foundation, P.O. Box
  650309, Dallas, Texas, 75265.
