Kauffman, died in the Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, on Wednesday evening, December 22, at 6:30 o'clock, following a brief illness of influenza and pneumonia with complications. She was the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. Miller, Meyersdale, and was born here April 2, 1903. In 1930 she was united in marriage with William H. Kauffman of Mann's Choice. They are the parents of three children, Carol, Judith and Linda, all of whom survive, ranging in age from eleven to four years. The following brothers and sisters also survive: Helen, wife of Chester Mazure, Turtle Creek; Jesse Miller, Oakmont, Pittsburgh; Ralph of Philadelphia; Thelma, wife of Louis Mankamyer of Sand Patch; Robert, of Point Pleasant, W.Va.; Stella, of Washington, D.C.; Emily, wife of Edward Boyle, Frostburg, Md.; William, a corporal in the U.S. Army, stationed in West Palm Beach, Fla.; Kenneth, a corporal in the U.S. Army, stationed at Langley Field, Va.; and Ray Eugene, a private in the army at Miami Beach, Florida. After being kept at the Winters Funeral Home in Pittsburgh until Sunday at 12 o'clock noon, when funeral services will be held there, the remains of Mrs. Kauffman will be brought to the local Brethren Church, and will lie in state there from 3:30 p.m. to 4 o'clock, when a brief service will be conducted by Rev. Westlager, pastor of the Evangelical Church of East Liberty. Interment will be made in the Union Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, December 23, 1943
