Kaufman, 93, Rockwood, died March 14, 1980, in his home. He was born Jan. 4, 1887 in Hollsopple, a son of Kore and Rebecca (Shaffer) Kaufman. He was preceded in death by his parents, nine brothers, four sisters, and one granddaughter. He is survived by his wife, Wilma (Bowman) Kaufman, Rockwood, and these children: William, Rockwood RD 2; Donald, Confluence; Charles, Somerset, Doris (Mrs. Arden Yoder), Hollsopple RD 2; Fred and Harold, both of Rockwood; and Ray, Chambersburg; 18 grandchildren; and 18 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was a brother of Mrs. Elsie Walker, Berlin; and Walter, St. Johns, Mich. Mr. Kaufman's death terminates a marriage union of 60 years. He was a member of the Laurel Emmanuel Lutheran Church, a World War I veteran, a member of the Woodsmen of the World Lodge, and a retired farmer and carpenter of Somerset County. Friends were received in the William G. Wood Funeral Home, Rockwood, where services were conducted with the intern pastor, the Rev. Richard Schlak and the Rev. Clarence C. Moore officiating.
