Kaufman, 87, Boswell RD 2, died Jan. 18, 1984, at Maple Mountain Manor, Berlin. Born June 30, 1896, in Conemaugh Township, son of John M. and Elizabeth Ann (Shaffer) Kaufman. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Sara K. Fulton, died July 3, 1979, son, William H., died Dec.. 11, 1976; granddaughter, Mitzie, died Nov. 27, 1965; sister, Edna Miltenberger, died Nov. 30, 1982; brother, the Rev. Martin L., died Jan. 19, 1983. Survived by daughter, Margaret E., wife of Wilton Kaufman, grandson Terry, married to former Nancy Miller, and great-grandson Patrick Ian, all of Boswell RD 2. Brother of Louella, widow of Harry Berkey, Jennerstown; the Rev. Ralph, Shrewsbury; Mary, widow of Joseph Knesche; Katie, widow of Charles Hoffman; Erma, widow of Harvey May; Grace; John, married to former Marjorie Lantz; Mildred, wife of John Liska; Hazel, wife of Algie Mishler; James, married to former Lillian Binnie; all of Boswell RD 2; Daisy, widow of Charles Kocher, Johnstown; Harry, married to former Yvonne Hechler, Somerset. Member of Jennerstown United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday school many years. Also member of Rural Mail Carriers Association, Army veteran of World War I, retired Boswell rural mail carrier since 1961. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, the Rev. Donald C. Rudat.
