All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ ADA SHOCKEY KEEFER Mrs. Ada (Shockey) Keefer, wife of Simon Keefer, of Canton, Ohio, died Thursday morning, July 10, in Aultman Hospital, Canton, after an illness of several weeks. She was 64 years of age, and was the daughter of the late Israel and Sarah (Shultz) Shockey, of Greenville Township, Somerset County. Mrs. Keefer was a life member of the Lutheran Church and a faithful member of the Sunday School and missionary society of the Canton Trinity Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Sons of Union Veterans Auxiliary. Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Earl F. Keefer and Elbert E. Keefer, and one daughter, Mrs. J. M. Burkett of Canton; also two sisters, Mrs. William Wasmuth, Mrs. P. W. White, and one brother, Irwin Shockey, all of Meyersdale, and eight grandchildren. Rev. Williard I. Hackenberg conducted the funeral services Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the Schneeberger Funeral Home. Interment was made in the Northdawn Cemetery, Canton. Among those attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Wasmuth, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Shockey, Mrs. P. W. White, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest White, and Mr. and Mrs. Marling Shockey and children, Meyersdale, and Mr. and Mrs. John Werner and Mrs. Mae Shockey, Finzel, Md. Meyersdale Republican, July 17, 1947
