Keefer, 70, died Saturday afternoon at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Clay Baer of Meyers Avenue. Death was attributed to a complication superinduced by an infected foot. Mr. Keefer was a retired Baltimore & Ohio Railroad section foreman. He was a son of Conrad and Cordelia (Bittner) Keefer and was born in Larimer Township. His wife passed away in 1936. Surviving are these children: Mrs. Frank Kemp, Hooversville; Frank, Harry and William Keefer, Mrs. Cyrus Cook, Mrs. Clay Baer and Mrs. Rose Keefer, all of Meyersdale, and Mrs. Frank Baker, Pocahontas. He also leaves 22 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a brother, B. F. Keefer, Sanner's Station, near Meyersdale, and a sister, Mrs. Conrad Felker, LaVale, Md. Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at the William Keefer home on Lincoln Avenue. Rev. J. E. Gindlesperger of the Wills Creek Evangelical and Reformed Church, officiated. Interment was made in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery under the direction of R. Reich & Son, local morticians. Meyersdale Republican, August 29, 1940
