Keefer, 71, of Jacksonville, Fla., died September 25, 1983 in Jacksonville. Born September 19, 1912 at Berlin, he was the son of Lewis B. Keefer and Sallie (Duecker) Keefer. Maternal grandparents were Harvey N. Duecker and Mary (Maust) Duecker. Paternal grandparents, Zachariah Keefer and Lydia (Ackerman) Keefer. He is survived by wife, Zelda Keefer, and two sons, Raymond L. Keefer, and Joseph H. Keefer, all of Jacksonville, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis B. Keefer and Sallie (Duecker) Keefer, Stepmother Mary Brown Keefer, three brothers and one sister. He was a retired supervisory employee of Buffalo Tank Division of Bethlehem Steel, a member and past President of Jean Ribault No. 68 Chapter in Jacksonville, and an avid clock collector the past 20 years. Funeral services were held at Giddens-Griffith Funeral Homes, Lake Shore, 4606 Lexington Ave., Jacksonville, Florida 32210. Pastor Roland G. Riechmann officiating. Funeral services were held Sept. 28 at 11 a.m. The body was cremated and ashes buried in family plot at St. Paul's Wilhelm Cemetery, Meyersdale. The Republic, October 6, 1983 [K0169]
