Keefer, aged 61, widow of Simon Keefer, died Monday afternoon in the Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md., following an illness of several weeks. She formerly resided in Northampton Township, but had been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Grace Lockard, of Cumberland, for the last few months. She was a daughter of Louis and Elizabeth Engleka, both deceased. Surviving are these children: Howard Keefer, of Confluence; Mrs. Nora Matthews, of Oakland, Cal.; M. J. Keefer, of Flint, Mich., and Mrs. Grace Lockard, mentioned above. The body was removed on Tuesday by J. N. Johnson & Son, Berlin morticians, to the home of her brother, Ralph Engleka, of East Berlin. Funeral services were conducted there Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, in charge of Rev. Skyles, pastor of the Cumberland Reformed Church, followed by burial in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Berlin. Meyersdale Republican, November 17, 1932 ----- SARAH KEEFER Sarah Engleka Keefer, born in Allegheny Township, February 23, 1871, died November 13, 1932, in the Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md., after an illness of almost one year. Sarah Engleka married Simon Keefer, March 31, 1891. Mr. Keefer died Nov. 13, 1925. Mrs. Keefer is survived by the following children: Howard Keefer, Confluence; Mrs. Nora Matthews, Oakland, Cal.; Millard F. Keefer, Flint, Mich.; Mrs. Grace Lockard, Cumberland, Md.; also by two brothers and one sister and her mother, who was 83 years old on the day Mrs. Keefer was buried. She is also survived by ten grandchildren. Mrs. Keefer joined the Mt. Lebanon Reformed Church when a young woman. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Gindlesperger, assisted by Rev. Skyles of Cumberland. Interment in the Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery. The pall-bearers were Hon. J. B. Schrock, Allen Miller, W. S. Lane, Herman Ream, Fred Groff and W. S. Baldwin.
