Keen, 71, of 505 West Broadway St., Rockwood, died June 14, 1990, at Maple Mountain Manor, Berlin. Born Jan. 18, 1919, in Edwardsville, son of the late Frederick and Bertha (Kuhr) Keen. Preceded in death by one sister, Bertha Keen. Survived by his wife of 50 years, the former Virginia Brant; one son, Frederick I. Keen of Clarion; two grandsons, one brother, George of Edwardsville, and a sister, Hannah Larderi of N.J. For 36 years he was an agent-operator for CSX Railroad, last serving in Rockwood. Member of the Roof Garden Chorus, Rockwood Church of the Brethren, Rockood Volunteer Fire Department and Knights of Malta of Meyersdale. U.S. Navy World War II veteran serving aboard the USS Dobbin in the South Pacific. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Rockwood Church of the Brethren, Rev. Jay Christner officiating. Interment, Rockwood IOOF Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the In-Touch Hospice program or the Rockwood Church of the Brethren. Viewing of the remains one hour prior to the funeral service.
