He was the son of David and Amy (Sechler) Keim and was born in Elk Lick in 1857. He was married to Jennie Cremer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Cremer of Paddytown, in 1882. In 1885 he moved to Nebraska, where he engaged in farming. He was the father of six children, five of whom survive, all being farmers. He was the oldest of 12 children, four of whom are living, Henry and Jonas Keim, Dr. Franklin Keim of Franklin, N.J., and Jacob Keim, well known resident of Addison Township. He was buried Feb. 7, in Nebraska. Meyersdale Republican, February 20, 1941
