Kemp, 90, of Confluence, died Aug. 24, 2001 at Somerset Hospital. Born Oct. 4, 1910 in Shaner, Westmoreland County. Daughter of the late Samuel and Marianne (Beresford) Smith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husbands James R. Stewart and Lawrence W. Kemp; daughter Eunice S. Wood; infant granddaughter Marianne Wood; and four brothers. Survived by daughters Edith S. Waltman of Wilmington. N.C. and Grace S. Sheely of Margate, Fla.; son Larry W. Kemp of Hollywood, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. A 1929 graduate of McKeesport High School and a retired LPN, having worked at the Price Hospital, Confluence, Somerset Hospital and Spear Nursing Home, Markleysburg for many years. A member of the Confluence Christian Church and Confluence VFW and Ursina American Legion, Auxiliaries. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence where service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Lgene Bonnell officiating.
