Kemp, 81, of Hyndman RD 1, died Feb. 22, 1981, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born May 28, 1899 in Markleton, he was a son of the late Orville R. Kemp and Stella (Hall) Kemp. He was a retired foreman for the B & O Railroad and was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance-of-Way. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Arvada (Flickinger) Kemp; five sons, Lloyd Junior Kemp, Laurel, Md.; Clyde Orville Kemp and Kenneth Ray Kemp, both of Denver, Colo.; Ronald Calvin Kemp, Cumberland, Md., and Donald Arthur Kemp, at home; five daughters, Mrs. Esther Mae Pope, Bedford Road; Mrs. Gladys Elizabeth Rooney, Cresaptown, Md.; Mrs. Carol Ruth Saville, Essex, Md.; Mrs. Dianah Sharon Vance, Artemas, and Miss Linda Sue Kemp, at home; two brothers, Clyde Kemp and Arthur Kemp, both of Confluence; three sisters, Mrs. Annie McClintock and Mrs. Helen Bowers, both of Confluence, and Mrs. Gertrude Shipley, McKeesport; 26 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, Cumberland, Md. Services were held in Central Assembly of God Church, Cumberland, with the Rev. Kenneth Owen officiating. Interment, Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Millard Bittner, Paul Deremer, Charles Shaffer, William Walker, Pete Warren and Bruce Ritchey. The Republic, February 26, 1981 [K0315]
