  MABEL J. KEMP
  
    Mrs. Mabel J. Kemp, Meyersdale, died July 26, 1978 in Meyersdale
  Community Hospital.
    Born in Rockwood, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Sara Jane
  (Hoover) Secrest.
    She was preceded in death by her husband Mathew; a son, Joseph and a
  sister, Sara.  She is survived by these children: James, Seattle, Wash.;
  John; Meyersdale; Jerry, Garrett; and Joyce, wife of Wilbur Keife, Euclid,
  Ohio; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.  She was a sister of
  Robert, Scottdale; James, Ohio; Mrs. Doll Moran, Des Moines, Iowa and Mrs.
  Melba Bryner, Uniontown.
    She was a Gold Star Mother and a member of the Meyersdale American Legion
  Auxiliary, American War Mothers, Garden Club.  She was a Democratic
  committee woman for over 40 years in the Meyersdale area, and a volunteer
  worker at the Meyersdale Hospital and she was president of the union at the
  Meyersdale Manufacturing Company for eight years.
    Friends were received in the Leckemby Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where
  services were held.  Interment, SS. Philip and James Catholic Cemetery.
