Kemp, 72 years old, died last Thursday morning at his home at 240 East Crawford Avenue, Connellsville. He had been ill for four months and had been a resident of Connellsville for about 40 years, for a time was an engineer on the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad. Twenty years ago he located at Meyersdale and for 16 years ran an engine for the Meyersdale Fuel Company. At the end of that time he returned to Connellsville. He was born at Wellersburg, May 5, 1858, a son of H. T. and Margaret Kemp. His parents located in Connellsville when he was young. Mr. Kemp is survived by his wife, who was Miss Susan Faidley of Meyersdale, and seven of their nine children: S. Albert Kemp, of Meyersdale; Harry L., of Confluence; Raymond, at home; Mrs. Robert Yauger, of Connellsville; Miss Hattie and Mrs. Marie Walker, at home. He was a member of the Methodist Protestant Church. The funeral took place on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at his late home, Rev. John H. Lambertson officiating. Burial in Hill Grove Cemetery. Those from Meyersdale who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Faidley, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Pritts, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kemp and the latter's son, Howard, and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Roberts from Acosta. Meyersdale Republican, November 13, 1930
