She was a daughter of Jeremiah and Elizabeth (Beal) Bittner. Surviving are her husband, John L. Kendall, and the following children: Mrs. Walter Saylor, Sand Patch, Wittenberg; Mrs. Clyde Ickes, Berlin R.D.; Mrs. Phillip Hay, Akron, Ohio; Mrs. George Horning, Mrs. John Robertson, and Mrs. Raymond Mankamyer, all of Berlin R.D.; Mrs. Charles Mitchell and Mrs. John Keller, both of Garrett R.D., and John Kendall of Garrett. Also surviving are a brother, Frank Bittner, Sand Patch; and two sisters, Mrs. George W. Tressler and Mrs. Simon Brown, both of Sand Patch R.D. Three children preceded her in death, one of them the late Harvey Kendall, a well known and gallant veteran of World War No. 1. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon in the St. John's Evangelical Church at White Oak. Interment in White Oak Cemetery. Mrs. Kendall and her husband were for many years prominent residents of Larimer Township, where she and her children were born. She was a devoted wife and mother, and sincere christian. Her bereaved husband is well known both as "Squire" Kendall (former Justice of the Peace in Larimer Twp.) and "Rev." John L. Kendall. He began preaching as a boy minister and evangelist at the age of 15 years, achieved local fame as "the boy preacher" in three states - Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia, and has also devoted his latter years to ministerial work.
