Born March 11, 1932 in Berlin, a son of Harvey F. and Etta (Shober) Kendall. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Kendall and an infant brother. Survived by wife, the former Betty Lou Bingman, to whom he was married for 50 years. Also survived by children, Samuel J. Kendall and Mrs. Scott (Sue K.) Gibbs all of Somerset; grandchildren, Samantha and Sara Gibbs and Brandon Kendall. A brother of James Kendall and wife Viola, Vineland, N.J., also numerous nieces and nephews. A 1950 graduate of Berlin High School. U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. Also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lodge 358 F&AM, Meyersdale Blue Lodge Shriners, American Legion Post 445 and FOE Aerie 1801. Worked as a truck driver for Spector Freight, retiring in 1982. He also enjoyed gardening, cooking, hunting and was a big Steelers fan. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, a service will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset with Rev. Linda J. McElroy officiating. Interment in Beachdale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 918 Tayman Ave. Somerset, PA 15501 or the Humane Society of Somerset County, P.O. Box 182, Somerset, PA 15501. Military rites accorded by the Somerset County Honor Guard and Masonic Services will be held 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
