Born Aug. 19, 1921, in Ehrenfeld, Cambria County, son of John and Ann (Bukata) Kentula. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Mary Dill, Margaret Frame and Ann Bobak; and brothers, Mike and John. Survived by wife of 59 years, the former Mary Racosky, and these children: Mary, wife of Donald Armstrong, Carvalis, Ore.; Andrew Jr., married to the former Christine Drzewiecki, Richland; and James Kentula, Maple Ridge, and Colleen Hechler; two grandchildren. Maria and Michele, wife of Dan Nyanko; and great-grand-daughter, Serena Nyanko. Brother of Verna Rosey, Beaverdale; Helen Hudson, St. Michael; and Irene Stoe, Mount Carmel; and brother-in- law, John Bobak, Boswell; and faithful companion, Hobbess. Member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, Davidsville; Knights of Columbus Father Dodson 2201, where he served as a color corps sir knight and past faithful navigator. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and was a flight engineer for the B24 liberator. Member of UMWA 998, Tire Hill. Retired foreman for Island Creek Coal Co. and retired bituminous deep mine inspector for DEP. Member of Jerome American Legion 802 and past member of VFW Post 8861, Hollsopple; member of Jenner Rod & Gun Club and Daisytown Sportsmen's. Family receiving friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at George E. Mason Funeral Home Inc., Davidsville, where vigil for the deceased will be held Sunday afternoon. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anne's Catholic Church, the Rev. Michael Lewandowski, OFM, Conv. Interment. St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Boswell. Military graveside service by Menoher VFW Post 155.
