  KERN
  
  Mrs. Helen Ober Kern, 74, of Rockwood RD 3 died Jan. 23 at her
  residence.  She was born July 4, 1899 in Stahlstown, a daughter of
  the late Smith A. and Mattie Burrell Ober.  Preceded in death by two
  brothers, Roy and Jacob Ober.  Survived by her husband, Wilbur, one
  son Wilbur E. of Donegal, three grandchildren and two
  great-grandchildren.  Also survived by four sisters: Mrs. Margaret
  Baker of Stahlstown, Mrs. Irene Dull of Greensburg, Mrs. Mildred
  Eichler of Lakewood, N.J. and Mrs. Gail Nedrow of Donegal.  Member of
  Center Church of the Brethren and a well-known area piano
  instructor.  Her passing breaks a marriage union of 54 years. 
  Friends will be received after 7 p.m. today at the Wilbur D. Miller
  Funeral Home where services will be conducted Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
  with the Rev. John Geary officiating with interment in Donegal
  Cemetery.
