Kerr, 60, prominent Frostburg, Md. radio personality and volunteer, died Dec. 17, 1980 in Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness. He resided at 163 East Main Street, Frostburg. Mr. Kerr, who was program director at Radio Station WFRB-AM & FM, was an organizer and charter member of several emergency medical organizations in the area. Current president of the LaVale (Md.) Rescue Squad, he was a charter member of the Frostburg Area Ambulance Service and the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians. He was also past president of the Mountain City CB Radio Club and the Cumberland Valley CB Radio Club, was a charter member of the Frostburg Jaycees and a founding member of the Frostburg Public Library. In addition, Mr. Kerr was a member of Emergency Medical Services, Appalachian Region 1, and was a Maryland EMT and Cardiac - Rescue Technician. He was born in Frostburg, and was the son of the late Earl and Anna (Powell) Kerr, and was preceded in death in 1954 by his wife, Judith (Steinla) Kerr. He is survived by one son, Keith Kerr, Greenbelt, Md.; one sister, Mrs. Marion Grove, with whom he resided, and three nephews whom he reared, Gregory Grove and Shawn Grove, both at home, and Kevin Grove, Frostburg. Friends were received at the Sowers Funeral Home, Frostburg, where services were conducted by the Rev. Dr. R. Olin Herndon. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Joseph Sevinsky, Harry Cook, Joseph Struntz, Kenneth May, Wayne Babb and George Uhl.
