Ruth N. (Kaufman) Thomas - Kerr, 88, Montebello, Calif., formerly of Somerset 
County, died June 3, 2008, in California. Born Oct. 20, 1919, in Somerset 
County, daughter of Chauncey and Bertha (Gashaw) Kaufman. Preceded in death by 
first husband, Oland G. "Bud" Thomas; sisters, Ferne Kirk, Agnes Smith, Mary 
Krause and Alma Krause; and brothers, Robert and Richard Kaufman. Survived by 
loving husband, Eugene Kerr; daughter, Linda (Thomas) DuBois, Colorado; and 
sons, Richard Thomas, Eugene Thomas and Eugene Kerr II, all of California; 13 
grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Graduate of the former Boswell High 
School. Past member of the former St. James Lutheran Church. Visitation and 
service was held in California. Friends and family are invited to a graveside 
service at 12 p.m. Monday at Kaufman Cemetery, Davidsville, the Rev. Donald 
Speigle officiating. Memorials may be given to the Juvenile Diabetes Research 
Foundation, 17872 Mitchell Ave., North, Suite 100, Irvine, CA 92614. Local 
arrangements in charge of Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 
Davidsville.
